서울은 세계 여타 대도시들에 비해 월등히 넓은 면적의 하천과 산을 가지고 있습니다. 개발 가능한 대지는 한정적인 반면 개발압력이 강한 서울에서 하천과 산은 도시의 빈 공간(void)으로서 또 다른 가능성을 갖습니다.
Seoul has a relatively vast area of ​​rivers and mountains when compared to other large cities around the world. While developable land is limited, rivers and mountains are holding possibility as void in Seoul where it is under development pressure.
 
우리는 하천과 산의 빈 공간을 채우지 않으면서 그곳에 활력을 부여할 수 있는 다양한 방법들을 모색했습니다. 그 과정에서 하천과 산 인근에 위치한 기반시설(유수지, 배수지, 학교, 빗물펌프장, 차량기지, 차고지 등)에 주목했고, 기반시설을 새롭게 정의함으로서 기반시설을 매개로 하천과 산을 채우지 않으면서 그곳이 다양한 활동과 이벤트들로 충만한 상태가 될 수 있는 다양한 가능성들을 탐색했습니다.
We looked at diverse ways to vitalize rivers and mountains without filling their void. Attention was paid to the infrastructure (reservoir, drainage, school, rainwater pumping station, railway yard, garage, etc.) located near rivers and mountains in the process. By re-defining infrastructure, we explored different possibilities that could be filled with various activities and events without filling rivers and mountains through the infrastructure.
 
본 전시는 도시 내 빈 공간의 잠재성을 재인식하고, 이를 바탕으로 서울이 새로운 단계로 도약하게 하는 다양한 전략들을 제시합니다.
This exhibition aims to shed light on the potential of void in the city, and based on this, present various strategies to take Seoul to a new level.
